Narvik has approx. 22.000 inhabitants. Well known for a fantastic alpine slope in the middle of the city center. 

The slope is host for the world championship in alpine skiing for juniors in 2020. And is the Norwegian candidate for the world championship for seniors in 2027.

Narvik is the only place in the the north of Norway with a team in the top-flight ice hockey league in Norway. 

The city have a train-connection to Sweden – and have an international airport only 50 km from the city centre.


The world famous Arctic Race of Norway has visited Narvik three times (2015, 2017 and 2019).

About half an hour drive from Narvik, in the adventourous Skjomen you will find Narvik Golf Club with its 18 holes challenging golf course. Open from May until October this course has been listed as one of the worlds greatest golfexperiences. High spectacular mountains gives a nice frame to this golf course, and during midsummer the midnightsun makes the trip to Skjomen a memory of a lifetime.
