About the Nordkraft Group
Nordkraft, established in 1913, is an energy group that focuses on the development, construction, production and distribution of pure renewable energy, in addition to our work with Powered Land.
Our main business areas are:
- Renewable energy production that comes from reservoir-fed hydropower plants and small-scale hydropower plants (~1,100 GWh), in addition of being the operator of external wind power plants and hydropower plants. In total Nordkraft operates renewable energy plant with a total output of ~2.05 TWh.
- Operation and owner of the power grid system in the Hålogaland and Ofoten region, which includes the two largest regional cities Narvik and Harstad.
- Project development from greenfield to fully operational plants within renewable energy and related business. Total of 19 hydropower plants and 3 wind farms have developed and constructed over the last 10 years.
The Group also has shareholdings in power-sales and other energy-related businesses.
Nordkraft merged with Hålogaland Kraft in 2021 to create a larger and stronger energy group in the region.
