Hydrogen / Ammonia
Hydrogen has been called the fuel of the future for many years, and finally it looks like the future has arrived.
Several initiatives are under way and several players are trying to create a viable and functional value chain for green hydrogen.
Green hydrogen is produced using renewable energy and electrolysis to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. Important uses of hydrogen is as fuel for transportation, reducing metallic ores, manufacture of fertilizers, and many other uses.
Nordkraft has entered into a joint venture together with Shell to deliver hydrogen to the ferries crossing Vestfjorden (Bodø – Moskenes). The road authorities has a tender and we hope to be the chosen player to deliver the hydrogen.
Several of our sites are well suited for hydrogen (or ammonia production that uses hydrogen), offering good logistics with closeness to harbour facilities and process water.
